Emerging and re-emerging infectious diseases have consistently posed significant threats to global health. The rapid spread and increasing complexity of recent outbreaks present new challenges for vaccine development, regulatory frameworks, and public health systems. Vaccines are biological agents designed to stimulate the immune system, enabling the body to produce antibodies and develop active immunity against pathogens, particularly viruses and bacteria. Computational Vaccine Design and Chimeric Vaccines

Bioinformatics plays a central role in modern vaccine and drug development by enabling the identification and design of safe, effective, and novel therapeutic candidates. Computational (in silico) approaches significantly reduce the time, cost, and experimental burden associated with traditional vaccine development processes. Chimeric vaccines, a class of recombinant vaccines, are engineered by incorporating genetic elements from a target pathogen into a closely related organism. This strategy allows for precise antigen design and improved immune response.
